Florida Rental Villas - Tuscan Ridge

For Florida rental villas, in particular Disney villas for holiday rental in Orlando, Disney Mouse House is ideal as it lies within 12 minutes drive of Walt Disney World. It is located in 'The Village at Tuscan Ridge' - an up-market community of luxurious Florida rental villas. Located just west of Disney World on US Highway 27, it is within 5 minutes drive of the Interstate 4, the main highway that takes you to Disney. Being situated so close to Interstate 4 it is ideally located for trips to both Gulf and Atlantic Coasts.

Supermarkets, Shops and Restaurants

Less than a mile away there are a few local shops. These include a bar and restaurant (Beef O'Grady's), a Chinese take-away, a chemist/grocery store (Walgreens) and a gas station that also has groceries. For golfers there is even a golf shop! Further afield, within 5 minutes drive there are two Publix supermarkets, a 24-hour Super Wal*mart, a few different restaurants including some fast food chain restaurants. A few minutes further away (on US Highway 192) you will find a plethora of grocery stores, super stores, restaurants, markets and flea markets. Drive south on US Highway 27 and you will come to Haines City that also has a 24-hour Super Wal*Mart and restaurants. One particularly nice restaurant in Haines City is 'Fish Tales' - inexpensive and well worth a visit.

Golf and Tennis

For golfers, near Disney Mouse House there are probably in the region of 20 courses - all within just a few minutes drive. Of particular interest must be the 18-hole golf course that is within 5 minutes drive - in Champion's Gate - a championship course designed by the legendary Australian golfer, Greg 'The Shark' Norman.

For tennis lovers, there is a court on site that is available free of charge to renters of our home.

Gulf Coast

For those of you who will be making their first trip to Orlando you will find the following resorts of special interest:

Clearwater Beach
Home of pristine white sand beaches, clear Gulf waters, warm sunshine and plenty of hospitality. Clearwater is located in Pinellas County on the west coast of Florida and is actually an island measuring several miles long but only four city blocks wide. No matter where you are on the island - you are near the beach! With miles and miles of white sand beaches, great restaurants, and plenty of gift shops and night life - Clearwater Beach is pretty close to paradise!

Sarasota
Sarasota is a beautiful city and has some wonderful beaches. Its 'Siesta Key Beach' is known for having the whitest and finest sand in the world.

St Pete Beach
St. Pete Beach is located on the gulf coast west of St. Petersburg, home of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (Baseball Team). The beach area offers a variety of restaurants, shops, services, and wonderful accommodations along with miles of white, sandy beaches.

St Petersburg City
St Petersburg is a beautiful city with many wonderful sites such as 'The Pier' with many different events and music festivals taking place each week. Also take the time to enjoy St. Petersburg's oldest living museum - the Sunken Gardens. It is a botanical paradise in the midst of a bustling city. This 100 year old tropical garden is home to some of the oldest botanical specimens. Unwind as you stroll through the meandering paths and discover a live oak tree that dates back over 200 years. Indulge in the cascading waterfalls, feel the flutter of wings in the butterfly enclosure, or talk to an inquisitive flamingo. But probably more famous to St Pete's is the Salvador Dali Museum.

Tampa Bay
Home of MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) - Florida's only IMAX Dome Theatre with many exciting exhibits for people of all ages. Also, see dolphins, Eagle Rays (a species of Manta Ray) and manatees in their natural habitat.

Atlantic Coast

Cocoa Beach
It's been called the quintessential beach town, and Cocoa Beach, an hour's drive east of Orlando on Florida's beautiful Space Coast, exemplifies everything that a classic beach should be. The tropical climate and exotic landscapes of Cocoa Beach offer endless ways to enjoy recreation and leisure on its six-mile stretch of white, sandy beach.

Cocoa Village
Historic Cocoa Village is located in old, restored downtown Cocoa. For a memorable afternoon you can walk historic streets and avenues that tell stories from the past, discover Cocoa Village. Walk along the Indian River walk or explore antique stores housed in historic buildings. Local Jazz and Classical musical groups entertain crowds and there are also holiday celebrations including a New Orleans style Mardi Gras and other special events.

Daytona Beach
World famous for its racetrack and the Daytona 500 Nascar race, Daytona also has approximately 23 miles of unspoiled sandy beaches. Just drive along the beach and choose your spot!

Kennedy Space Centre
Where the US shuttles are launched from. You may even be lucky enough to be there when a launch is taking place!

New Smyrna Beach
New Smyrna beach stretches for 13.2 miles. Dubbed the "World's Safest Bathing Beach," New Smyrna Beach is also protected by rock ledges 25 - 40 miles offshore which eliminate dangerous undercurrents.
